  1. Took down the Christmas tree today!
It’s fake otherwise never would have been up this long. No decorations on it so I called it my Swedish mini forest.

  2. I’m in the process of restocking my pantry. I told myself not to buy anything until I ate what I have and I ate nearly all of it. I order my staples from California and New York. They take a while to arrive, so I might eat crusty bread for dinner a few days coming.

Decluttering is ongoing. At the moment I have nothing to chuck.

  3. Have just decluttered the pantry and have more room on my shelves. Had a look in the freezer and we are ‘eating up the freezer’ in the coming weeks for a fresh start. I need to sort all my craft items and fleece for spinning, I’ve had some so long they will just go on compost heap. feeling pleased with what I’ve done so far. thank you for your inspiration.

  4. I decided to declutter and find at least 12 items each week for the next 2 months to purge. Starting with closets for linens, clothes, and a variety of items, I’ve easily found more than a couple dozen items each week for resale, donation, or disposal. I worked with our older kids to resell and donate many items they have outgrown. That proved a bit tricky due to emotional attachments. To help them with a decision, I collected the outgrown items I thought they should purge and placed the stuff in a common area. I asked them to go thru their respective stacks of stuff and decide if it was still valuable, relevant, or usable. Recommended they take a picture of the item so they would always have it, if that would help them make a decision to let it go. It worked perfectly and they were ready to let those items go.
I also walked around our home and found several decor items to purge so I could re-decorate the space. My husband and I decided that any decor, linens, or clothing coming into the house had to be an exchange with a similar item departing the house. It’s been VERY refreshing and great for our mental health!

    1. Wow, TMC, you’ll be free of 100 items if you can maintain your purge of 12 items a week for 2 months!
I’ve been impressed with myself for letting go of 1 item per day (so far 6 weeks but trying for a full year). You definitely have me beaten.–Anne

  5. when decluttering try to donate unwanted items to charity shops, family and friends or recycle them as it makes it easier to be ruthless.
most charity shops will sell unwanted clothes for rags so even an item which has a hole in etc is worth taking it. If you wash and/or recycle jars and packets when you have put the contents in the food waste you can feel good about throwing them out and it’s easier to clean the fridge and cupboards that aren’t full to the
brim. Don’t forget to do something afterwards as a treat !!
