  1. I’ve watched 3 segments of the Home Edit show so far, and I have to agree with your assessment. Their work is pretty and it does make you feel like there is order where there was once chaos, but in most cases I see that it went from disarray to managed chaos. Seeing all the things just makes me feel anxious, including all the containers to wrangle the things. The celebrity exception was Reese Witherspoon’s costume closet. That one had a purpose and there was plenty of negative space to give her pieces space to shine and not just look like a crammed closet, which was completely the opposite of Rachel Zoe.

    1. Yes! I thought the Reese episode was interesting (I saw she is the executive producer on the show) but still unrelatable for storing all of your actress memorabilia at your 2nd home ;). It did look cool though!

  2. I completely agree and thank you for the extra suggestions to try too. I feel that some of the more normal examples could quickly end up reverting as things build up again and would have appreciated seeing more of the edit parts. It is entertaining and I enjoyed watching but didn’t feel like a practical motivation.

  3. I have not seen the show. I am about the only person alive I think who does not have Netflix- haha! But I absolutely LOVE The Minimal Mom and the Clutterbug segments on YouTube. A Slob Comes Clean is also a favorite. I just finished her 21 Days to a Clean Home challenge which emphasized decluttering and cleaning on a daily basis using her modified FlyLady system. I am trying to declutter and simplify my life. Your blog, along with others and the YouTubers have been amazing encouragement!

  4. The Polished Habitat blog with Melissa George is fantastic! She has been featured in major magazines and has 2 books coming out. Lots of practical, accessible ideas and a great writer.
