  1. This year I’ve gone from walking with a cane to a walker to a battery-powered wheelchair. Next move, assisted living.
I have about 1000-2000 books now and am starting with those this weekend. It’s killing me but I must downsize to 1 book shelf unit. Next? My dvds/blu-rays. 😵‍💫

    1. Leaving books is like leaving old friends. The personal reference collection left behind seems to signal lives not lived and possibilities unrealized. But there’s so much online now. There are other ways to get the information and librarians are wonderfully helpful. I face your decisions myself for different reasons.
You have my total sympathy. Just remember that group settings may have libraries with dated magazines and novels from earlier decades to revisit. others may lend or exchange books. Or maybe you can start something. Good luck to you.

  2. I am recovering from a perforated appendicitis op. Planning on using the time to declutter my wardrobes full of lovely (but hardly worn) clothes. Also planning to make a list some home improvements I’d like to make life easier when I’m a bit older!

  3. Thank you so much for your support and advice. It certainly isn’t easy but your tips have helped, physically and emotionally.

  4. This is very helpful! I basically deal with all of these health things at once, so it can be super difficult 😬 but I do try to do little bits, and I really would like to try the suggestion of having a friend help, just need to get over feeling ashamed of stuff 🤪
