  1. Keep trash baskets in almost every room, and empty them! Easier to decide to declutter when a place to put “stuff” is nearby..

  2. Yes.it’s correct. but, sometimes not easy to start. i have saturday and monday for try the decluterring, I need the simple and smart home, but, from which I must start? my bedroom, my kitchen , my yard or my living room?

    1. before the end of summer I try to get more outside work done!! …maybe just spend a wee bit if time organizing, etc.

  3. I spend to much time on game playing on my tablet and phone. I will get them off my screens so I will not see them or open them to play . i will be sort of out of site and therefore out of mind.

  4. “Consider implementing a 3-day rule – if you want something, force yourself to wait at least three days before buying it. Chances are, you’ll find most of the stuff you want is truly a want, not a need.”

This is so simple and yet so powerful. The bulk of my shopping is done online. I’m bombarded weekly with sales pitches. Because I’m impulsive, I scroll through all the stuff. I put things in the cart, bookmark, and leave it. If days and weeks go by without my glancing at them, I empty the cart. Obviously the items are not something I need or really want. This little technique has saved me thousands of dollars in impulse shopping.

While I haven’t yet perfected intentional shopping, I’ve come a long way towards it. Yesterday I crafted the year’s budget and declared myself on a no-buy winter/spring. There’s nothing I need. There are only wants. I can do without wants.

  5. Great list, love 3 and 4. You have a clear way of explaining things Julianna.
I would add Unsubscibe from old mail lists in your email…. I found I was constantly deleting items from mailing lists signed up years ago. So now, if I’m no longer interested I unsubscribe!
