  1. My husband. He insists that any items he uses to cook meals for himself needs to be “left out where he can grab it when he wants it.” So when I am able to cook, the first thing I need to do is clean off kitchen counters. Since I need to use a walker, this is a major job for me to do, and seriously discourages me from cooking. The only saving grace I have is that sometimes he makes ahead freezer meals for us both. Very basic and boring, but it handles the hunger. I’m afraid my kitchen is going to be a mess until he is no longer able to cook at all.

  2. Not having a pantry. Oh, how I wish. I could get a lot out of the kitchen into a pantry. Haha!

  3. Great ideas. I am going to start cleaning the sink more often!! Putting dishes in the dishwasher right away is another goal of mine

    1. Giving the kitchen a once over is the last thing I do before crawling into bed to read. I run the dishwasher and polish the sink every night. It’s important that I face a clean kitchen in the morning to perform my sacred coffee ritual. Try it. You’ll love your mornings as a result.

  4. I have cluttered cabinets . Overflowing. But everything is withing easy reach. I can just put my hand in and pull out what I need. Being disabled I cannot reach in to my lower cabinets as they are too deep so I had to put in storage boxes I just pull out to access what I need or baskets I pull out to access items. I cannot see the point of leaving an empty space with nothing in it. But I am working on making my space better. Just need to be bold and remove a lot more. A work in progress.

  5. I have refrigerator magnets, replicas of art I saw on a European tour three years ago. They’re neatly arranged. I’ll keep them. I did, however, give away a few small appliances, a Lodge cast iron dutch oven, and a Lodge stove top cast iron grill. The stove top looks clean and the cabinet with pots and plans has more empty space. Also, I hid the teapots. I have seven, a choice for whatever mood hits. Different sizes for how ever many guests. Fancy or plain. I love tea parties. Anyhow, yes to these suggestions. No idea what to do with the six cases of Pellegrino currently stacked in the kitchen, but that mystery must get solved another day. Thanks for the list.
