    1. Agree-quick and easy. I’ve been looking at the dust on our black entertainment center for a week, and in less than five minutes, with a Swiffer, it was gone. Why didn’t I do it sooner?!

      1. My two favorites are to wipe the kitchen and put away non essentials. Takes 5 minutes.
The other is to wipe and tidy the bathroom. Put clothes into the washing machine or clothes hamper. check for at least 1 expired item!
Today I went through the little bottles one collects from hotels… shampoos and body wash went into a hand wash dispenser. And the hand creams into a basket for now. I do use them! And they go into my handbag too

  1. Joan–I don’t have a swiffer but 2 rags (1 wet and 1 dry) works fine for a quick dusting.–Anne

    1. We eat popcorn on occasion while watching TV. Today I pulled the seat cushions off the couch and vacuumed the popcorn bits, hair and whatever else gets in there. And I rearranged the cushions so not to wear one out more than the others. Took five minutes, and it feels good to have a clean couch!

    2. I use a trick my momma taught us as kids. Wet hands with water and wipe them dry, evenly, on an old dust rag. I like the Swiffer dusters, too, but I heard that they can leave a residue.

  2. I set a timer when I need motivation to start something — cleaning, organizing or even starting a book for book club. I set it to 26 minutes. It’s enough time to notice the effort. Often I’ll set the timer one more time. This has been successful for me.

  3. I used a washing machine cleaner 3 in1 clean and shine put one packet inthe washing machine open put in to the drum put on normal wash no clothes make it cleaner

  4. Putting items back where they belong! Dishes done in categories: glasses, utensils, plates, saucers, pots & pans. Every 15 minutes of an hour, I must move this 59.1 yrs. young body! Every area that I’m in should be comfortable! Clutter SCREAMS DISORDER & I PREFER WHIMSICAL WHISPERS! HAPPY SABBATH 7-26-25 TO ALL FROM Detroit 💕!

  5. thank you for this, I’m feeling really depressed and overwhelmed. I’m going to try these.

    1. I also feel overwhelmed which throws me into freeze mode. Mine is health related restriction…foot pain when standing. Miss the glory days of unstoppable energy.

  6. I do a couple of these each day. It’s painless and made a difference in how hard I must work on Saturdays when I clean my entire home. It no longer takes all afternoon.

  7. I watch a movie with commercials and see how much I can clean during each commercial. It’s amazing what you can accomplish in those little breaks.

  8. Love all of these tips. I’d like to add:
    1. Set a timer when starting a load in the washer so that it gets to the dryer. I’m apt to forget it’s there and have to run it again!
    2. I like to fold clothes while I’m watching something like a short tv show or while my husband and I are watching something. It’s relaxing to me. I put them away when I feel like it.
