All of these are critical to nurturing the spirit and bringing ease to our lives. Number 8, however, is pivotal especially now, not only for ourselves, but for our communities, and our nation (speaking from the U.S.) Finding ways to contribute to the world may seem like a tall order for an individual, but it’s not. It’s in how we present on social media, how we raise our children, what foods we buy, supporting our local library, donating to organizations that serve the disenfranchised among us, and choosing to work for organizations that reflect our values. Any number of things help; donate the torn linen to an animal shelter rather than tossing it in a landfill. We can all have impact in advancing a more peaceful world order. Every little act creates movement. Move in the direction that best serves the next generation. It’s a good thing to do. It’s also our responsibility as citizens of the world.

  3. we rid ourselves of TV about 8 years ago, life is much more peaceful without the stressful news broadcasts. I have learned to say no to negative relationships and to things I don’t really want to do or have time for. I limit who I follow on FB and keep it positive. Taking time for my self-care. I still want to create a quiet space for reading or Journaling. working on making space for it.
