Recently I decluttered, deep cleaned, and redecorated my home. When choosing what to bring inside, my emphasis was on scent, color, and texture. Earthy golds and shades of olive atop sand and cream with shocks of deep purple, red, and lemon yellow. Silk, flax, linen, velvet, wool, down, cotton, wood, metal, glass, greenery. Maison Louis Marie candles and Ojai Lavender Linen spray.

I wanted as much nature as I could bring indoors. Visual, aroma, and touch induce calm as I move from one room to another, even the bathroom with its Turkish cotton towels, linen shower curtain, and glass decanters.

My home is far from minimalist, but it is simple and I think welcoming and comfortable for any nature lover needing sanctuary. At least I hope so. At least for me.
