  1. We gave up television 8 years ago. I found it just added more stress in my life. Husband is a news junkie. We also do not allow electronic devices at meals. It is our time to discuss our day and reconnect. we are both early risers, and start our mornings slow. I said no to going to the gym 5 days a week and now only go to the two classes a week I truly enjoy plus twice a month with my personal trainer whom I enjoy. I walk almost daily and enjoy the trails up on the mountain behind my home. My peace is very important to me.

  2. Who knew waking up slowly involved ditching the sunrise alarm for *actual* morning light? 😅 But seriously, the whole savoring coffee while brushing teeth trend is spot on, though I might need a separate binoculars kit for that one. Saying no is hilarious in theory, but try declining your third cousins help needed with the garage sale request – good luck with that peacekeeping mission! And decluttering? Ah yes, the sacred art of making counters *just* empty enough for a fleeting glance before the chaos returns. Overall, a solid plan, though my idea of a hobby is probably considered relaxing by comparison.

    1. Your comment sounds more true to many. Glad for those who have implemented these successfully. I did once. Still, tomorrow is another day to try. Although my family are not talking to me after I said I had to try do some work for me. Will that change the positivity charge.. What’s next on the list. Sunrise resetting, naturally, no alarm, after little sleep. To get better sleep. Could help, longitudinally. But alarm is a problem. Decluttering, sounds amazing. I will do a drawer/pile a day if I dont get distracted with all my other slow down practices between full on. Time for my meditation now.

  3. I love these habits and already do some of them. My favorite is getting up early before my husband is up and slowing enjoying my coffee on my patio or if it’s too chilly, I enjoy it at the kitchen table where I can look outside at my garden.
Spending time outside is one of my favorite things to do and it’s true that it is so calming, healing and grounding. Thanks for these reminders to slow down!

  4. I agree 110% Slow Living habits and in the moment are the best in life. Being with nature listening to a peaceful environement going for walks, gardening, puzzles Waking early feeling refreshed after drinking water followed by a great cup of coffee..The warm sunshine stretching being grateful and decluttering the results are a positive happier refreshed life. Thank you for your article I will share with family and friends.
