  1. I shared this with my sister and her wife who are deaf. I wrote them the following as an introduction:

    “For you, noise isn’t the physical sound the way that it is for the hearing population, but it’s your emotional noise. Those repeated negative thoughts you have. The anxiety you might feel over whatever. Sometimes I feel it over money. Pay attention to when your spirit isn’t calm and think of some of the things this article suggests.”

    I, too, read this piece with mental noise in mind. I am experiencing health challenges and the “noise” is intense. Thank you for these suggested ways of quelling it.
